With a privileged location along the Agly River, the landscaped promenade takes you to Barcarès’ very first beach, Plage du Village Sud. You only have to walk 150 metres to reach the water’s edge, on a quiet and welcoming sandy beach, where the Agly river meets the Mediterranean Sea. You will be sheltered from the busier beaches such as Grande Plage de Barcarès or Lydia beach towards Leucate, from your fully equipped mobile home rental.
A private access gate reserved for campers opens the way to the sea and all its pleasures When visiting Barcarès Plage, don’t resist the urge to sunbathe, swim or simply relax. This supervised beach is also equipped for people with reduced mobility and is a must-visit spot for sailing.

Walk along the coastline of Barcarès Beach
With eight kilometres of beaches along the coastline, our campsite in Barcarès Plage allows you to stroll along the beautiful Catalan coast. Discover eight sandy beaches with a variety of atmospheres, ideal for a change of scenery. The beaches of Barcarès stretch from the mouth of the Agly, the natural border between Torreilles and Barcarès, to the eastern end of the Salses Leucate lagoon. The main beaches of Barcarès are as follows (from west to east):

To see the wonders around Barcarès Plage, we recommend cycling along the coast (bike hire and payment at reception or via the Lokky app), starting on the banks of the Agly and continuing towards Port Leucate and the wild Salses lake. It will take you about twenty minutes to cycle along the beaches from the greenway. For a rejuvenating walk with your feet in the water, take the time to stroll along the shore and contemplate the peaceful waves of the Mediterranean Sea.

Directly accessible from our campsite in Barcarès Plage, enjoy green spaces rich in natural beauty. The first beaches along the Agly river are the most family-friendly and safest, ideal for children. On the beaches in the central and southern parts of the village, the whole family can enjoy the kids’ club and inflatable attractions. The beach is also suitable for people with reduced mobility, with dedicated facilities! Combining natural surroundings and artistic discoveries, the Grande Plage neighbourhood is the place to be in Port Barcarès for a stroll. Beyond its impressive 10-metre height, the Lydia beach liner, along with the Allée des Arts, is a major cultural site to discover in Barcarès. These two open-air museums showcase the maritime history of the town in the former and contemporary sculptures in the latter.
For water sports, you can enjoy them at any beach, although Port de Barcarès remains the most popular spot thanks to its wide range of water sports clubs. Our campsite near Perpignan with a water park will also delight you with its swimming pools, jacuzzis and slides. In the evening, you can enjoy yourself in the many beach clubs or eat in one of the restaurants along the coast.
